LOST CABIN
What people forget
is how a place can go quiet.
Not the stillness
of snowfall or dusk,
but the kind of quiet
that comes
when no one is left
to listen.
You can walk through
and see everything
just where it was—
a chair, a book,
a shirt still holding
the shape of its last wear.
But the air doesn't move
the same way.
Even the echoes
don’t try anymore.
Time doesn’t take it all.
It leaves
just enough
to remind you
that forgetting
is never complete.
