Between the Circles
You sit between communities:
the family that shaped
you, the town you navigate,
the humanity you hope for.
It isn’t tidy.
Chess clubs, knitting circles,
church, campaign flyers—
all asking you
to explain yourself.
You try— bridge
and ambassador, tender
with your contradictions.
You learn, being whole
requires being misunderstood.
