Dopamine

I make a list:

stretch in the morning,

read for no reason,

skip the cookie at checkout,

walk somewhere that smells like pine.

Each box I check is a whisper—

you’re doing it.

Small wins become

tiny sparks in this long winter,

like kindling catching

just enough to keep you warm.
