The Four Agreements
Be impeccable with your word,
Don’t take it personally,
Don’t make assumptions,
Do your best—
It sounds so simple.
But I’ve seen the hardest part:
forgiving myself on the days my best
is small, asking instead of assuming,
pausing before I speak.
These aren’t rules. They are
loosening. They are the practice
of not gripping so tight
that we miss the joy
of being human.
