Poem segment 1

VI. The Field

The old image

of the solitary creator

begins dissolving here.

You can see the network now.

Language feeding language.

Stories feeding stories.

Systems built from accumulated voices

speaking through one another.

None of us started alone.

We inherited metaphors

before we understood them.

Learned love through borrowed phrases.

Learned grief through ceremonies

older than memory.

The machine enters this field

already crowded with us.

Working the same material:

pattern,

association,

echo.

What changes

is visibility.

The hidden collaboration

moves into plain sight.

And creativity stops looking

like invention from nothing.

It looks instead

like participation—

hands shaping wet clay

already mixed

from countless other hands.

The machine does not replace that.

It reveals it.
