Poem segment 1
VII. Attention
So attention returns again.
Not as suspicion toward everything.
Not as paralysis.
Just the willingness
to remain awake
inside interpretation.
To ask:
why does this feel convincing?
What part of me
wants this to be true?
What am I adding
to what has been given?
These questions do not erase illusion.
Fog still gathers
over the field at morning.
But they change
your way of walking through it.
You stop confusing clarity
with certainty.
You hold conclusions
the way someone carries a bowl
filled close to the edge—
carefully,
ready to adjust
with each step.
That is enough.
Not perfect knowledge.
Just continued relationship
with what is happening
while it happens.
